Done restores off and on for years, but this last weekend, a restore got stuck and the computer didn't talk. Use jaws 13 and have windows 7. I kept hitting enter and finally I got jaws back. But lost windows live mail. Now the vendor has me in thunderbird. Seems okay except for moving around in the program. Looked on these boards and still have a few questions. How do I open a message? If I make a new message, how do I make sure my signature stays at the bottom? Have to end by saying, be careful with restores. Never thought I would have a problem like I did.

Here's the answers to your Thunderbird questions, I use this app also, but I have not gone around and messed with settings so there may be ways to set things:

Open a message by pushing enter on it then tab once it will say something tab, shift tab and you're in the message.
Now when you reply or write a message, when you get to the body, always push control home first as Thunbderbird always puts you at the bottom if you don't. Done it with JAWS and NVDA though the machine where I use Thunderbird I most frequently am using NVDA at the time. Don't know any reader-specific key commands.

Hope that gets you started with it.

there are some scripts for thunderBird that can make jumping to folders easier plus a few other things, one thing that doesn't seem to work though is seeing all the info about a message, at least it doesn't work for me.
